Sovereign Earth Episode 4 (July 23rd 2019)- Gratitude

Sovereign Earth 4     Gratitude

Wake Up Wake Up Wake Up
Rise with the rising sun
Listen with your heart
We are one we are one we are one.
Gratitude is a key enabler to living a purposeful and contented life.
It is equally one of the great contributors to honouring and healing Sovereign Earth.
Enabling us to put Heart back into the Earth
Each day is holy and sacred, yet we tend to forget. However, the very fact that it is called ‘Dei” reminds us that it is holy and sacred: Day /Dei  Deity  God
I went out on a walk looking for a daisy to contribute visually to the broadcast.   Instead, I found a beautiful buttercup – so full of grace – so tender. Then a cluster of maturing hazelnuts and the remarkable cups they sit in – each one a remarkable work of art. Then finally a deep green oak leaf – in its prime as we approach the festival of Lughnasadh.
It was only as I was returning home that I eventually found a daisy – a single one in a neighbour’s front lawn. The eye of God – Dei’s eye.
Einstein said there are two ways to live a life – the first way is to regard everything as being a miracle – the second is to view the world as being devoid of miracles.
What is amazing for me is that WE GET TO CHOOSE – yet many people prefer to go for a world bereft of miracles rather than a world that is full of them.
I know what I choose!
We can complain because rose bushes have thorns or celebrate because thorns have roses.
Everything is sacred everything is pure
Everything is sacred everything is pure
When I see with eyes of Love
When I hear with ears of Love
When I hold with arms of Love
“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder”
“When it comes to life, the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude” GK Chesterton
“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude”  C Ozick
“The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to give gratitude and enjoy it”  Richard Bach
“In ordinary life we hardly realise that we receive a great deal more than we give and it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich” Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
“Gratitude is the memory of the heart”  Jean Baptiste Massieu
               Everybody is happy inside
They just ‘don’t know it yet’
               Everybody’s in love with life
               Its the best kept secret
We are made of the stuff of the stars
We dance until we die and then we’re born again
We dance until we die and then we’re born again.
(with gratitude to Katie Howell my eldest daughter)
“Gratitude is an opener of locked up blessings”
Marianne Williamson
“Gratitude is a currency we can mint ourselves and spend without fear of bankruptcy”
Fred de Witt Van Anburgh
“Gratitude is the ability to experience life as a gift
It liberates us from the prison of self pre occupation “ John Ortberg
“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others”   (Cicero)
The essence of all beautiful art is gratitude – Nietzsche
Nothing is more honourable than a grateful heart – Seneca
I was complaining that I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet – Confucius
There are so many opportunities to give gratitude – Saying grace or offering a blessing for food is one wonderful example.   Greeting the day, either with a walk, a song, meditation or yoga – or simply with a statement of intent or affirmation.  When infused with gratitude, these simple actions have the capacity to be magical and transformative.   They are contributions of authentic interplay with Sovereign Earth.
An invitation – In the next twenty four hours, I invite you to approach someone and say,
“I give gratitude for your presence on this planet.”
A beautiful song of gratitude
Blessed am I by Trees of Beauty
Blessed am I by skies of blue
Blessed am I by all around me
By this land and by you
By this land and by you
Every plant that grows to feed me
Feed my mouth and feed my eyes
Every grain of sand every creature
And my kin by my side
And my kin by my side
(Enchanting the Void chant via Maggi Moon)
